Jenn-Air, Maytag and Magic Chef Fault Codes

WARNING

F1 Relay activated in non-cook mode................ Remove power. If fault persists, check touch pad and

clock. Isolate touch pad from clock. If code persists,

issue is with control. If it does not persist, issue is with

touch pad.

F2 Temperature runaway ................................... Ohm sensor and check wiring. If ok, replace control.

F3 Open sensor.................................................. Ohm sensor and harness.

F4 Shorted sensor .............................................. Ohm sensor and harness.

F5 Open relay in a cook mode ........................... Replace control.

F6 Missing AC line detector ............................... Replace control.

F7 Shorted Key .................................................. Replace touch pad.

F8 Relay failure .................................................. Replace control.

F9 Door latch error ............................................. Check door lock assembly.

F0 Cancel key..................................................... Remove power. If fault persists, check touch pad and

clock. Isolate touch pad from clock.

If code persists, issue is with control.

If code does not persist, issue is with touch pad.

F0 Shorted key failure .............................. Check the keypad for a stuck keypad.

Failure in element relay circuit ............

Press cancel key. If alarm persists, isolate the touch pad

from the clock. If failure returns, issue is with clock.

If failure does not return, issue is with touch pad.

Runaway temperature.........................

Ohm sensor and sensor wiring. Verify oven will complete a

clean cycle without failure.

F3 Shorted sensor .................................... Ohm sensor, sensor wires, and inspect sensor for damage.

F4 Open oven sensor ............................... Ohm sensor, sensor wires, and inspect sensor for damage.

F6 EEPROM failure .................................. Replace control.

F7 Clean circuit ........................................ Check door lock switches and the wiring to the switches.

F8 Door switches...................................... Check door lock switches and the wiring to the switches.
